Frauen für Solidarität
Are you a Ukrainian woman in Germany who is interested in finding a tandem partner to improve your German language skills and get to know Mainz or Wiesbaden through the eyes of a local?
If so, then you may be eligible to participate in an exciting study conducted by researchers at the University of Mannheim!
What do we offer?
- We will help you to find a language tandem partner by designing a personalized flyer (in German) where you can briefly introduce yourself and explain your desire to find a local tandem partner. The flyer will also contain general information about our research project Frauen für Solidarität.
- We will distribute these flyers to women in your city of residence.
- We will assist you in looking through the responses from interested German speakers and help you choose a language tandem partner.
- Finally, you will receive a financial reward (100€) for participating in our project.
Are you eligible?
To participate in our project, you must meet the following conditions:
- You are a woman from Ukraine
- You are either
- 18-29 years old, or
- 45-59 years old
- You live in Mainz or Wiesbaden.

What is the goal of our research?
We want to find out which factors foster contact between foreigners and Germans.
In particular, we are interested in whether there are differences between neighborhoods in terms of how many people will respond to the flyers. We are also curious about how age differences influence inter-cultural contact.
